Training & Nutrition - HR monitor question

I've decided to get a HR monitor. For the most part they all do the heart rate information but then each seems to provide different varying functions. The most featured seems to be a Sette 28 which probably has much more than I'd need. I kind of like Sette's rubber attachment that lets you put the watch part on the handlebar.
What should one look for?
Any brands one should avoid? Is there a clearly best brand?
Is a monitor that has a cycling specific feature advantageous?

I bought a cheap Polar quit a few years ago and I only use it for my current heart rate. I don't track it during my runs to see the highs and lows. I use it to verify my heart rate at the end of a run and then 60 seconds afterwards and 120 seconds afterwards. I am not tracking any of this information in a spread sheet or anything like that.
I think it really depends upon what you want out of your heart rate monitor. Most fitness centers use equipment that works with Polar straps, so that is what I purchased. That way if I am on a treadmill, I don't wear my watch, because the machine is showing me the heart rate. If I am outside running or on my bike I have my watch. On my bike, I just strap it on the bar and go. I don't use any special bracket.

Look for an HRM with digital rather than analog transmission between the sensor strap and the display unit. Digital transmission eliminates false readings due to stray electrical signals. Also look for one that allows you to change the battery rather than sending it to a factory repair station. Do you normally wear corrective lenses, but ride without them? Look for a display large enough to see well in your riding conditions. Look for a unit that is easily removed from the bike when you park and leave it. Some of them come with alarm features to notify you when you have exceded a range you set so you can get back into that range.
