General Cycling Discussion - Free Bikes!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
You're not going to believe this. I just got a new boss a month ago and last week she heard me talking about bikes. She says, "Hey I have a couple of bikes that I want to get rid of. If you come pick them up you can have them." Never one to turn down that kind of deal, I went and picked them up this weekend. Check out the links. Both bikes are CroMoly, very light, 12-speed, and in incredible shape. The Ross is totally Shimano equiped (too bad about the color). The Lotus frame is too big for me but still a nice ride. I haven't had time to really check them out completely as I was out of town for the rest of the weekend.
What do you think?? Not bad for free??
NICE!!! and I thought i was lucky with that $10 Raleigh.

I would like a bike.. pleeeeeesss.
thanks.. I'll pm you my address.. :D
Just kidding :D :D :D
Man, you're lucky!!!! make sure "weed" still stashed inside those tubes... Police dogs can sniff them. :( Those are late 70's to early 80's bikes, right????
The Ross and Lotus are late 80's and early 90's. I have some 70's and 80's bikes though. 14 of them to be exact. I told my wife that in the spring I would sell off about 10 of them. Now I just have to think of something to tell her in the spring!
Those are pretty sweet! lucky you :) They look like they are in excellent shape too. Are those Biopace rings on the Ross? If the Ross fits you wife that would be great, nice paint job for a women's bike.
Biopace they are. Good eye. I'm going to try to get her on the Ross in the spring. She usually rides a Trek hybrid.
Hey Kerk! Let me know what and when you're selling. I only have 2 1/2 bikes right now and am always looking for more!

These are nice bikes, look brand new. If your new boss hasn't looked for one or two favors since she gave them to you, then they're the deal of the century :p

Very nice , how do you find the Bio-pace chainrings on the ross bike ???
I will sell either of the above pictured bikes for $100 + shipping. Also I have a Miyata or a Nishiki International for the same price. Here are pictures of the Miyata (http://www.geocities.com/rickkerkhoff/Miyata.html)

I'd love to have an oldschool road bike... just keep my speed on the road...
42LBS's and 2.7" tires @ 25PSI gets rather old when riding to the trails... :(
You can tell the BioPace rings are slightly oval in the picture.
As requested... Got some pictures of some of my bikes, some for sale...

I see what you mean about the color on the ross. Some people may be very rude to you with that color bike. I urge thee to repaint,Repaint. That is if you are comfortable with it. James
My daughter rode in an MS150 with me last July on a Trek 700 hybrid. She wants to try out the Ross and if she likes it, it's hers.
