How do I get into this sport?

So... I'm a roadie, looking for something to do during the winter months...

WHat do I have to know about this sport, and where do I find information about races, etc., in the Montreal area?

Hi mate,

It's really easy to get into the sport...alot of races are just turn up and compete. You'll need a Cyclo-cross specific bike, or MTB to race...though I have known people to just their road bikes and just chuck a pair of knobblies on them.

Not to sure about your area, as I'm in the UK...but your local cycling rag or bike shop should be able to let you know where the local races are.

I love cyclo-cross...very friendly...but bloody hard work.....enjoy! :)
