I am looking for the world's brightest bicycle light. Where can I purchase it?

Hi Earl,

Welcome to the forums. Can I kindly request that you only post a particular message once, rather than cross-posting it across several forums? You just need to give people time to see the message to get responses.

Thanks,

Earl, I'd just contact your LBS and tell them what you want. Just know that you can get some pretty bright lights, but it gets pretty costly at some point. You don't need a really bright light to see the roads. I have a 12 watt halogen bulb and that does the trick every time. I just have to remember to recharge it after my rides, that's all!

Brightest lights are HID based like the Light and Motion have had very good reviews but you are looking at upwards of $300 for HID based lights.

Hehe,
LBS- Local Bike Shop. This light is total overkill for most,but... it's about as bright as it gets http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=101&subcategory=1067&brand=&sku=10039&storetype=&estoreid=

I think there is a $600 light somewhere, but that is just nuts. 15 watts is enough for me.

If you want to burn (no pun intended) some serious cash, check out Lupine (http://www.lupine.de). Their Edison with higher capacity battery costs something like 880 euros or close to 1000 USD. I bet it is bright, too :D.

Another outrageous overkill in bike lighting is the Supernova dual xenon bulb system P99-D (http://www.supernova-lights.com/p-99dUSA.html) at the reasonable price of 699 USD.

And then there's the guy who built his own system, with a large battery attached on top of his rear rack. I think you can find that info somewhere on the Forums if you search a bit.
