Well, I rode my furthest ever today, 25 miles. As happy as I am, I managed to crash around the 22 mile mark and mess up my wrist and rear brakes on a slider into a corner. So I'm not sure if should count today as a win or not. :)
On the plus side, I didn't break or sprain my wrist, so I can still ride the 40 mile Space Race next Sunday. At least I won't have paid $30 for only a shirt.

Good going- hang in there and go for that Space Race. Hopefully, the brakes aren't messed up much, either.
I just got back from Spring Fever ride in Sulphur Springs- it was misting lightly the first hour or so of that, and looked like ideal time for a slide, but I didn't see anyone down. I ride about as fast as I can on my usual runs, but definitely slow down when things get wet.
Yeah, it was just a stupid mistake. I had just turned 2 corners and was trying to get back up to speed and wasn't thinking. Oh well, I'm pretty sure I won't make that mistake for a while.
As far as the brakes, it works out well, as my bike was due for it's free 30 day checkup since it's been a month since I bought my Allez. Also, I won't get it back until Wednesday which works out well because the doctor told me not to put a lot of weight on the wrist for a couple of days.
Thanks for the encouragement though.
