G'day,
I've been a roadie now for about a year. bought my first road bike, yellow scorpion with basic shimano Sora goupset and shimano wheels, with my last tax return. I live in Adelaide, which I personally believe was custom built for cyclists. It's flat in the right places to make it easy to get to work but there are also some serious hills to stretch the legs a bit more. I love riding my bike, it's simple really.
I'm also doing a bike mechanics course at hamilton adult college. I highly recomend it to anyone who lives in Adelaide. It's a great course.
I'm also 23 been married for 11 months and work as an outdoor instructor, mainly bushwalking and mountain biking but road cycling is my real passion.
Feel free to drop us a line. Wouldn't mind hearing from people from the otherside of the world.
Cheers
Chris

Welcome to the forums. Gee, another Chris -- you're not a doppleganger, are you? ;)

I did some riding in Adelaide last year, I think it's a great place to ride. I actually found it similar to the Gold Coast in terms of it's variety of riding experiences. I think we have a few other members from that part of the world, too.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forum. I thinks this makes half a dozen people from Adelaide now. You are right about Adelaide being perfect for cycling. The warmer weather is certainly a relief after this wet winter. Have either of you guys been to the http://www.cycle2max.com site. It is a great site for getting motivated for climbing those big hills. People set times up Norton Summit, Old Freeway, Willunga Hill etc. Anyone can post a time to see their power output and various other data as well as measuring oneself against the rest of Adelaides cyclists.

CHEERS.
