I just happened to be browsing and stumbled on this

http://www.foldingbikes.co.uk/mezzo_i4.htm

(right now, £399 for silver only)

Thought someone might be interested

(edit: I see in this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=402460) that someone has seen it even cheaper)

Yeah! I thought it was a mistake until i saw it for even less.

It does seem like a big cost saving.

Question is, should i buy one?! The reviews seem lukewarm but that would be taking into account a much higher purchase price at the time of the review.

Cheers, Matt

Never ridden any other folder so can't compare, but as an owner of an I4, if all you need is a good, easy to fold, commuter then it's great. The rear rack with Mezzo bag can take a laptop with change of clothes for overnight stay, I've been sent to Manchester, Leeds and a couple of other places with no problem.

If you are fit and your terrain is flat (mine is mainly London) then it is under geared, but I'm about to fit a 48 chainring instead of the 44 and will report back.

Thanks for that.

Just out of interest, does the rack get scuffed-up from folding/unfolding/transporting as it seems to get beaten quite a bit in the folding demos i've seen on the web.

Only the part nearest the seat and this has a plastic covering which appears quite robust.

How much does the Mezzo weigh? I don't see this mentioned on their website specs.

Not sure myself, but AutoExpress made it 11.5Kgs. I can run the length of Paddington with it, just, with some arm shake when I have put it down, so I reckons it's heavier ;)
