I Turned my shifters around 180 degrees, now the SIS does not work properly for my rear derailer. The chain will jump two or three gears at a time. I tried not to move anything when I took the lever apart and made sure the boss cover lined up properly when putting it back together. I'm hoping someone with more experiance can help me find the problem. The shifters are mounted on Syntace Aero bars and the derailer in Dura-Ace.
Thanks for the help,
Mac.

Your derailleur cable simply needs adjusting......turn adjuster maybe a quarter turn either way and see if indexing is restored.

That was the first thing I tried but it did not work. It seems to be in the shifter itself. The indexing will be close together and then it will "skip" a stop or two. When it works the stop (clicks) are close together and the shifter moves very little. When it "skips" a gear the shifter moves the proper amount to jump two gears but I can't get it to stop in between.

I assume it works in the friction mode?

Ya, friction works fine. I'm hoping there is an adjustment in the shifter (i.e. 8 speed, 9 speed etc.) or something I'm missing. I'd hate to bring it to the shop if it's something simple.

I got It!!
There is a tension sping inside the shifter that I must have loosened when turning my shifters around. Turn the selecter ring from SIS to Friction and keep turning counter clockwise to load the spring, a little adjustment and presto!
