Anybody have any ideas on rigging up a replacement strat for the HRM on a garmin forerunner HRM? I bought one without an elastic strap, and dont want to spend 10 bucks to buy a replacement. Was thinking of tying shoe laces to it, but im dreading the chaff.

The polar ones are a buck at sport chalet, but they are backwards... ugh. anyone have a spare laying around?

10.00 for the proper strap will seem a bargain after several miles with a poorly fitting strap. Aside from that if you try to "rig something up" you will probably spend half that amount on supplies anyway.

My wife sews her own clothing and for others. I would visit a local fabric store and see if they have elastic in the width you need. It sells by the foot or yard. Then have someone with even a little sewing skill attach it to the fittings on your old strap and stitch the ends so they will not come loose easily.

I say spend the $10. Although the tape might save you some money on chest waxing.

hahaa. i actually thought about that, but i decided against it since i'd like to keep my nipples around. I think I'm just going to use the polar one for now, and if it gets too nasty, I'll spend the 15 bucks for a new one. Thanks for the advice.
