Hi everyone,
I'm a Peace Corps volunteer in Macedonia and will be done in December 2008; however, I plan to extend here till March 2009 (warmer weather) to start this self-supported expedition ride. I am awaiting an official approval from Peace Corps and assuming I get it, there should be a link to the ride on their webpage along w/ solicitations for donations for 2-3 charities. I would like for one to be American, another to be Macedonian, and another to be Indian (3 countries in 3 continents!). The ride would be from mid March 2009 through June/July. I recently got a Trek 4300 mtn bike and I'm planning to modify it for touring and get all the appropriate gear. And I'd like to find 1-3 other cyclists here to join me. Just think that you'd be on the same path more or less as Alexander the Great but on bike! About my riding experience: I did one tour across America 10 years ago but it was supported.
