We are going on a ramble over the Thanksgiving holiday with my wife's parents to inaugerate their new motorhome and we are heading south in hopes of warmer weather. I was hoping to bring the bikes and trailer to do a little riding with my wife and kids, anyone know of some appropriate trails or road routes in any of these cities? Thanks in advance, Rob.

Theres a KOA off of I-75 exit 296 (Cass-White Rd.), it's about 55 miles from Chattanooga and about 50 from Atlanta. But best of all it's only a mile from the Bud brewery. Myself and many others ride out of the brewery every Sat, Sun, and Wed through rural Bartow and Gordon Counties. If your interested let me know. All of North Georgia is great riding albiet somewhat hilly. There are multiple sources of information for N. Ga. routes and trails. Try http://www.sorba.org/home.asp for Mtb and;
http://www.bikesbl.org/ for road.

As for Chattanooga, they have a great club you could try emailing them.

And Savannah also has a very active cycling scene.

Good Luck

Buzzbomb,
I grew up in Chatta. and now live in Atl. Chattanooga has some great country routes. I grew up in Ooltewah and Collegedale (Litespeed home office). This is on the north side of Chatta. I-75 N. Great roads there. In Atl. if you are staying near Stone Mtn. then you have a wonderful (no to slow traffic) ride inside the park. There is a 5 mile and 8 mile loop with rolling hills. Traffic is limited in one direction. Bikes and runners share a lane. Not to bad. I've trained there for years. If you are on the NW side of Atl. there is the Silver Comet Trail (SCT). It's a rails-to-trails bike route (paved). 37 miles one way, flat. Beautiful route with low usage. Hope this helps. Send me an e-mail if you need additional info. Have a safe trip.

We've got a nice Saturday Social @ 8 AM here in Savannah GA.

We leave the Bicycle Link (Hodgson Memorial Drive) @ 8 AM, do 25 miles, then stop for coffe and bagles etc. at Gallery Espresso Downtown. Then do another 10 miles back to the shop. 18-22mph, no one gets left behind. There is usually about 15 of us.

PM me or email me for more info if you are interested.
