Hey everyone. A little about myself. I'm 33 and a meat cutter by profession. I started riding again in November of 2007 commuting to work on a Schwinn Mtn. bike from walmart, which died 47 days later so I took it back to the store and traded it for a GMC Denali and use it for the 13.7 mile commute each way...The road bug has hit! I'll be buying a REAL road bike very soon and training to ride in the Tour de Scottsdale (70 miles) in October. Cycling has the power to change lives and I love it.

Oh...I'll add I had ankle surgery on October 13 2006. It hurts to walk and I can't run. I ballooned to 255 lbs. Bicycling doesn't hurt and I'm back down to a 34 inch waist...Though I have not stepped on a scale recently. That's why I say cycling has the power to change lives.

Cool! There are a lot of people here in total agreement with you about the way cycling can change lives--just look at the Clydesdales/Athenas forum to see how many people have turned their lives around.

Welcome to BF!
