I am restarting this thread as a means of indicating the question and the answer, discovered since the recent difficulties. [N.B. I never got to see the response by 'roadbuzz', I think it was.]
Our ErgoBrain 10 computers were having enormous problems remembering sprockets. We have 3x9 Centaur setups, and the builder had so much trouble that he gave us a discount if we agreed to set them up ourselves.
I had just as much trouble, and after several exchanges with Campagnolo, find the problem to be that the mount - the socket at the handlebar - was for 10s, not 9s gearing. We will have the replacement made at our 500 km check next month.
For anyone contemplating one of these computers, even with the hiccup, we think they are great. But make certain that the people installing it use the proper mounting kit. I think I understand the error, because prior to us, our builder had only installed the original ErgoBrains (he sells very few, as you can tell). I believe that he saw the "10s" on the mounting bracket, and thought it to mean "ErgoBrain 10", not "10 speed".
As usual, all's well that ends well.
Cheers...Gary
