I hate taking pictures. Your looking through the lens and not whats right in front of you. Nice pics non the less.

Well, the reason why I like taking pics is that I'm capturing the nice stuff I see with my eyes for posterity's sake, so...*shrug* I also enjoy the fact that the world looks different through the lens sometimes.

I know what you mean. I once shot a friend's singing and dancing performance, and afterwards I asked her to get me a DVD of the performance, because I missed the whole thing with my eye in the viewfinder. But I still love taking pictures, even if it's just dinner, because they enhance our memories and allow us to share with people who weren't there. And your friends appreciate seeing pictures of themselves with their friends. I just put together a picture book for some friends who just moved back to Australia. In compiling all the pics into the album (I took about 80% of the pics), everyone realized how many good times we actually shared over the years. :)
I'm sure nekohime's friends appreciate her efforts. I do too, since I've never been to China and it was cool to see those pics.
Also nekohime makes a good point that you can reinterpret and cast the events in a different light if you have a creative flair. Turning your life into art.
