Chrome bicycle? I know he used to ride a "chainless" bike, but I've never heard about one being chromed.

Dave, I was trying to find information on Dave Moulton/Fuso frames and stumbled upon this:
2004 Bianchi Bicycles
With the unfavorable exchange rate much of Bianchi bicycle production has been moved beyond the Pillars of Hercules to an island in the South China Sea. If you think there’s magic in the ride of Italian steel we are discounting the remaining ‘03 models. 2004 Pistas have arrived. They are chrome plated. Discover what Major Taylor discovered over a century ago with his first plated frame... you can see competitors behind you reflected in your frame!
Taken from Shaw bicycles website....
I still cant find the Moulton/fuso info :(:(:(

A plated bicycle from Major Taylor's era was more likely to have been nickel-plate than chrome. I haven't been able to find a picture of Taylor on a plated bike. I would guess that the allusion to a plated bicycle came from his autobiography. The Major rode for the Iver Johnson Bicycle Co. If the bike you're looking at was made by any other manufacturer, it probably was not Major Taylor's.
Here's a pic of a Major Taylor bike (manufactured by Iver Johnson Arms Co.)
I found it on an e-bay auction. The bike is "believed" to be ridden by Taylor
I still have the link if anyone is interested. Opening bid was a cool $25,000
no on bid so I guess its still available!

Well, if it is a Major Taylor bike, it was almost certainly used for motor-pacing.
