Anyone doing this one?
I plan on being there, riding my Zieleman with
toe clips and straps.
So if you see an old geezer with looped brake cables, silver bike
toe clips and straps say Hi!

FYI the TRE will be stopping at victory plaze and as DART lets you take bikes on anytime consider riding DART> No parking issues. BTW I'll be there with the JDRF team Dallas

I rode Tour Dallas last year. I could handle the snow, but the hordes of unpredictable, inexperienced riders really bugged me. I doubt I'll go again.

Haven't made it to one yet, doubt I'll likely start now.

As an unpredictable inexperienced rider, I plan to go there and bug the serious riders. I've done got my money in. :)

Seriously, this sounds more like a fun tour of Dallas than a bicycling event. I know the loop around White Rock Lake can get cluttered without any special events, so I'm sure it'll be a madhouse for this. So I'm not expecting it to be the place to go for record-breaking speeds. I've thought about taking the Low Gravity bike, but haven't had it on the road enough to trust it.

Don't know about unpredictable...but I'm inexperienced in crowds. It should be...interesting. I, too, will leave the Low Gravity bike behind and will be riding my Specialized Hardrock with the rear rack and trunk attached.
Look for #352 (that's me the guy that weighs more than 352#):D

Is anyone riding DART down from Plano/Richardson?

Wife and I will be venturing to the big city for the ride. We go slow, and ride as far to the right as we can. I stay slightly to the left and behind to give her room. If some hot shot Lance wannabe scares her by passing on the right I'll stick my frame pump through their front spokes and we'll see 'bout that.

I have no complaint about a rider only because of less experience.

What I mean specifically is that there are too many people (for my tastes) in the Tour Dallas
ride who do dangerous things because they don't know better.

Picked up my registration pack and ready to go- I'm No. 2000.

Made it over and rode the 30 miler- had a good ride out of it. Beautiful cool day. They said that was the most people they'd ever had for one.

They got started a half-hour late due to the barricade-and-cone people not showing up on schedule. And I saw some people that had crashed on the viaducts in two different places. Otherwise, went pretty smooth. I don't think I bothered anyone. (And Hobart, I was just kidding about that, too). The routes up to and back from White Rock Lake tended to be slower, but I made the loop around there at pretty good speed.

I was #2750! Did the 30 miler, met another member from C&V while at the rest stop.
(she was asking about my saddle, we didn't know each other till we did the intro thing).
There was a pretty nasty accident at the same place on the Viaduct last year, only difference
is this year there appeared to be 3 or 4 people down as opposed to one last year.
All in all a pretty good ride despite the 1/2 hour delay.

I got there, saw they were charging $5 for parking, and remembered I had left my billfold AT HOME! Made it back and on the road before everybody had left, and did the 30, too. Beautiful day for riding! Cuda, I need a BF shirt! I saw a couple guys I've ridden with in the past, on the Sunday Night Pub Crawl/Roll.

We had a real fun time, but I think skaters should not be mixed in with bikes.

Skaters? Im glad I went to Spring Fever instead.

I just saw a couple of them myself, and they weren't especially in the way. But if you did the 30 mile route, after 20 miles you caught back up to the 20-mile-route-people who were at their 10-mile mark, so all the sudden there were a bunch of slow people again. I didn't see any unicyclists on the run, although it looked like a good route for it. Saw a half dozen tandems, several recumbents, etc.

I saw the lady on the viaduct crash, right n front of me. She was out the min her head hit the concrete she was out for about 5 min, then was combative until she woke completely. After helping her until 2 doctors arrived I stayed and tried to keep others out the crack she hit. But about 8 others apparently were too busy rubber necking to listen to the 3-4 of us trying to direct traffic. One got a hurt and was also taken by ambulance, and 2nd a dislocated finger, there others all went on. the rest of the 30 miles was great. Saw some of Dallas I don;t think I've ever ridden through.

Anyone know who she is now?

Just wondered if anyone else had tried to check on their photos on brightroom.com?
