Does anyone know if there is a trails route that would get from Memorial Park to Terry Hershey in Houston without riding on many roads at least. Once you are to Terry Hershey it is easy to get to Hwy 6 with those trails and they are great for riding on I think.
This might could go in commuter but I figure more will see it here.
BTW, I plan to be volunteering for the MS150 this year at one of the rest stops, good luck to all those riding.

Where on Memorial? Terry Hershey Park is on Memorial between Eldridge and Dairy Ashford if I am not mistaken...
Take a look at Google maps satellite view. Its pretty hand for route planning.
Ah, my mistake, I meant from Memorial Park, not just anywhere on Memorial Dr.
I was looking at the google maps, and mapmyride.com and was having a hard time telling what was what, I just recently moved here and was just trying to find out if anything was in that area.
Thanks
Hmm...I don't know right offhand of any trail linking the two directly. I could be wrong, but I think you are going to have to ride on some streets or sidewalks next to streets to get there from memorial park.

Unfortunately, that is the correct answer. The two parks are too far apart. The closest Terry Hershey park entrance is on Sam Houston Tollway about halfway between Memorial Drive and Briar Forest.
Bob
I sometimes go to terry hershey from memorial park either straight down memorial drive but parts of it bikes are banned from the road though I have never been ticketed or warned but that puts you at the far west end of the park. You could also take woodway than left on chimney rock then right on san felipe which turns into briar forest (which has a bike lane) then right on wilcrest until you see a bridge, under that will be the terry hershey trail, the trail entrance will be on the left hand side immediately after the bridge. Hope that helps, also where the bikes are banned on memerial dr they do provide a sidewalk for cyclist and pedistrians but there are a lot of hidden driveways and cross streets seems like a dangerous combo.
