Foo - Bootiful day for the beach.

I posted in whatcha doing about a spot that I just found yesterday that I took my GF too, it was a cool little cave and small tiny beach. Well we went for a walk together today and explored more and found a beach that is nearly untouched as well as lots of beauty.

Just wanted to share some photos. Sorry, it's with my point and shoot camera so the quality may be a bit crappier than usual. I sharpened/cropped and played with levels in photoshop.

Yea they are all fixed up in photoshop.

Every photo needs contrast and sharpening IMO...


For example, compare the last shot to the original, uncropped, one that has no contrast fixed.

PnS cameras don't have RAW.

It's the JPG high format. 2800x1800px or sometihng.

Besides, Pheard is a Mormon, he isn't supposed to shoot in the raw... :D

Sorrya we never get winter in california! Shoot. We do have fog though! fog is bad mmkay? really bad. It makes it get like down to 50 degrees. THat's coooold.

That's one thing I like about Cali. It seems they actually take SOME interest in protecting some relatively untouched areas from developers.

Well..... not like the beach is going to be developed.

In fact, it's quite the contrary. Land here is constantly sold and property built. Even stretches of land that seemed like they couldn't even fit property on them. There was a strip of land between the road and the bottom of a hill, and somehow they fit 500,000$ apartment complexes in there. Every piece of land is sold and crap built on it.

This beach, this is like a gem. All the other beaches are filled with litter and garbage and are heavily worn. This one, first of all is at the far end of the city, you can only get there to go past a road behind the dump, which lots ofpeople don't know about. So it's completely flawless, no trash, a couple footprints from people. It really is awesome that there is a beach like that. I wish the other ones were likie that.

I'm surprised. I know when I was in the Bay Area they had large stretches that wouldn't be developed. The whole Golden Gate park and whatnot. I know they really control development up in Portland. Nashville started trying to control their expansion by increasing midtown density, but they're doing it wrong.
