I just want to make sure before I go and buy a few things...

An FC-6500 (Ultegra Double) crankset should be compatible with any Octalink V1 BB with 109.5mm length (for example, the ES-25). Nashbar has the FC-6500 on sale for $60.

The ES-25 is the Octalink V2 interface used on mtb setups, V1 is the road version. Deeper splines on the mtb model.

The Ultegra Octalink bottom brackets are out of production so, unless you can find one NOS at a bike shop, you are going to have to use the 105 version. Licktons has them for $35. Here is the URL:
