I have some old down tube shift levers. I have removed the levers easily from the frame, but there are still the Shimano shift mounts (or whatever you call them) that are still attached to the frame's shifter boss. Anyone know how to remove these? thanks.

If you're speaking of the chrome dealies that include the travel stop, they're just a light press fit. If there's a lot of paint on the frame, the fit may be tighter.

Anyway, a gentle tap from a hammer may loosen them, or try small channel lock pliers gripping it perpendicular to the downtube and wiggling it off.

Pad a pair of pliers, grab the mounts and wiggle them off. Spraying some penetrating oil on the bosses can help.

thanks for the tips guys. I used a little too much force and scratched one of the mounts a little bit. After I got a little gap between the frame and mount, I just used a small knife and pried it off of there. it's all good. thanks again.
