Does any need any further explanation, or can we close this thread?

I should have included a fifth 'wisdom' in my little summary gleaned from years helping out with forum boards, cooker. The fact that most of the detrimental impact originates from people around that 'village idiot', rather than from himself. Makes the eventual decision a harder one to make, that does, but unfortunately it doesn't change the nature of the eventual decision. Expediency limits your options.

Gary... be very afraid.

I think that Catweazle makes some good points as much of the issue around a certain banned poster seems to be a result of some people's nearly unhealthy obsession with the kid.

I got here after he was banned but we (Ryan and I) had some pretty nice conversations and I found him to quite reasonable but at other times, and I told him this, his behaviour went way over the line.

Not to mention eye-opening in more than one sense.

Thanks for that. I remember reading a psychological study about WW-II army units, who always had a "Sad Sack", or unit buffoon (named for a comic strip grunt). If he got killed, they immediately found a new Sad Sack. It wasn't about the guy, it was about the unit needing someone in that role.

Being "productive" is not a consideration when it comes to banning. Otherwise, I would have been gone a long time ago.

lol

"Disruptive" is the key word here.

yeah, that's basically what i meant.

Interesting...whole thread.

So, Brian, why have I never been banned?

Just curious.

Oh, and please ask Grumpygirl and Mighty Quin and Sixty Fiver (have I missed any? Joe Barflo - I know not), in case they are not reading, to weigh in.

Thanks.

Mary, his name is Joe Borfo, not "Barflo". I know because he is a friend of mine.

Is this merely a typo? Or is it meant to be a play on words?

Is it friendly? :)

Is it snide?

Am I harassing you now?

Do we simply have a failure to communicate?

Alice, I like you, so I'm publicly asking you to give it a rest. Thank you.

I like you, too, Brian, and this Forum. Giving it a rest a great idea.

In fact, it's a beautiful Spring day...perfect for riding a bike.

I think I'll go do that now for awhile...:)

I couldn't ride my motorcycle to work today - 60% chance of rain, plus possible snow.

TIME TO H.T.F.U.

I've ridden a couple of mornings when it was 23 degrees out. But I'm not thrilled about leaving my new motorcycle out in the rain and snow. I need to buy a cover.

I sold my Goldwing GL1800, and got a Suzuki Boulevard C50T. Yes, it's a toy. But it feels more like a motorcycle than a two-wheeled Escalade.

I spent a few years not to long ago working the parts counter of a Suzuki/Yamaha store. The C50's are a nice fit for the guy who wants a cruiser that still may do a few tours. I sold my last bike (06 GSXR) last year. The older I got the more immature I found myself acting when on the street. Not a good mix :)

I hear that. There are 106 reasons I decided against a VTX 1800.

Peter Olsen. And it was black. And a 2004 GL1800. That looks like a 1500.
