Things I hate about Craigslist when selling items-

When you specifically list very specific details only to get e-mails asking those exact details- Ex- What year is...... See ad

When you specifically put- Please no "$50 dollar best offers" e-mails for this 500 dollar item. I receive offers such as- $60 pick up today-

When people come look at what you have after sending them a dozen pictures- Only to come- say...ohh this is crap this trailer has rust, this is in very poor shape, i doubt i can even tow this trailer home, ohh lord.. this is in baaddd shape... I can't buy this....This is worthless, how much does scrap steel sell for? It might need a little work, NOOO Sir, this will need years of work. ------- Ok, So how much do you want for it........ Save the act-- Make an offer-

How much do you want for this just the trailer-
That trailer isn't for sale.. just this one right here
OHHH Ok... So like 50 bucks.. both trailers.. today!! Right now!

Please leave...

End of Rant- I will add as these people get rediculous

I don't bother looking at CL very often anymore. Too many ads which are like "Chevy--$400" or somesuch, with no other information. And/or horrible English. I'm sure I'll miss some good deals, but it's not worth driving out to see something that I may be interested in only to find out it's absolute trash.

I never had much of a problem selling stuff on CL, except bikes. I think most people in my town think anything more expensive than a Wally World bike is ridiculous. I left my LHT up until the ad expired one time and only got two calls. I'm glad I did because it was a really weak moment of financial crisis and I'm glad I still have that bike.

Things I don't like about CL:

It doesn't really cover my rural area.

If it did, I'm not sure I'd want freakazoids eyeballing my stash and knowing where I live.

It's tough for me to participate knowing it's a common fence for stolen bikes. I hate bike thieves with a passion.

Market prices are far less than other venues, and lowballers abound.

Well a LHT is for more of a niche market, unlike, say an entry level road bike like a Trek 1000.

What I hate is when people put ridiculously high asking prices for POS bikes from the early 80's thats barely ridable as is and the only value is in the frame for someone to use as fixed gear conversion. Or even worse, the bikesdirect.com or department store bikes bikes selling for more than what they go for. Too many unscrupulous people out there...

Ok, 45 bucks and you deliver, do we have a deal? :D

What is worse is meeting someone half way and agreeing on the price, then meeting them and they try to low ball you. Since that experience everything I have sold has been pickup only.

I have a truck for sale on craigslist, been on there for a month or so. I have had about a dozen scammers telling me they want it. I have been playing along, using a fake name in the return emails. I now have two checks, $7,400.00 worth, with more on the way. One of these guys is a "prince". Dont know what they want with an old dodge truck. One guy said he wanted it for his mother in law. Hell, I can barely drive this thing.

I hate that crap too.

I have a bike that was used like half a dozen times. I put 1700$ into it and asked for 900$.

Morons email me and go 500$ final offer. Or 600$, that's all the money I have. It's like wtf? I listed it at 900 and you want it for 3-400 less?

I have had poor luck with CL too.

I wish people would realize these things before contacting a buyer who is selling stuff on CL:

1: A seller doesn't want your check, written out to an out of town bank on temporary check stock. Cash or leave.
2: A seller isn't going to take a $2000 cashier's check for a $500 item, while asking for $1200 of the money wired to somewhere not in the US.
3: A seller isn't going to meet you at some seedy part of town with the item for the exchange.

4: A buyer isn't going to buy a computer periphral with major case damage because it was ripped away from a cable lock.
5: A buyer isn't going to buy something with all the serial numbers filed/scraped off, especially if its a fairly expensive item.

Moral of the story: Someone who can make a service that is almost exactly like CL, but registers and checks out users so the bar of entry for crooks is a lot higher than having an E-mail address would make a lot of money.
