I was wondering if they is the option to do the 180 miles for Houston to Austin in one day. Are they setup to allow that?

I know there is a group from the Woodland that does the full M150 miles in one day. I think they proovide their own "support" for everything past LaGrange. There was an article in the Chronicle last year about them. I wish I had better info for you.
There is nothing like this offered through the MS society, but I have heard of people that do it on their own. I'd love to ride all 180 miles in one day because I'd like to try this kind of distance. The MS Society will never add this option officially because it would mean all of the support on Day 2 would also have to be in place on Day 1 from LaGrange to Austin, making it a logistical nightmare, plus an increase in cost.
That's too bad. When I did Seattle to Portland (208 miles) they have it set up for both options. Most of the stops were sponsored by churches.

Agreed. There are indeed people who do it in one day, but they are on their own after LaGrange. I worked a break point last year, and will again next week. All groups working break points and other such functions have assignments for each day. Believe me when I say each breakpoint is a tremendous logistical undertaking.
