Damn modern technology! Has this happened to you? You call up someone and most of the time you get their recorded message ("Hi! This is xxx. Leave a message! Bye!) plus the machine message ("If you would like to leave a message press 1 or wait for the beep.). So you leave a message and that works.

However... have you ever gotten just the machine message part without the personal recorded message? I got that before, hung up, called back, got the full message so I knew it was working and left a message. She called right back. But this time, I didn't get her recorded message just the machine part and I left a message anyways. Now, I don't know if she got my message or not. So, should I call back again (and again, etc.) until I get her recorded message so I know her voicemail is working then leave a message? But what if her voicemail did work the first time? Then I'd sound pretty dumb calling again (and again, etc.). And it's already Thursday night so calling Friday would be too late for Saturday?

Any recommendations?

Don't call again and again because that equals annoying and you being ignored. You should have waited until they gave message options so you could have confirmed it. You could always call again and leave the message and add sorry if you already got this blah blah blah my phone was acting up blah blah blah.

Is this AT and T?

They were messing up big time this week. I went to call my nephew on his cell and for some reason, got MY messages. I hung up thinking I called my voicemail and tried again. Next thing you know, my voicemail comes on again. His number is way different than mine. I have no idea what happened. I called the next day and everything was back to normal.

I wonder if someone else got to hear my messages!

Text her. Say that you attempted to leave a message, but it seemed to be acting funny so you wanted to confirm that she received it.

Call again and say that your phone is messed up and you don't think the message went through.

I think so. The machine message part sounds like it.

I think this might be the best idea. I mean, if her V-mail is still messed up then I'd be calling again and not be... smooth :p Okay, I'll wait until noon and try it.

Email is always a good option, too. If you happen to know her email address.

Wait in the bushes outside her house. You don't want to knock on the door or make yourself immediately known. That'd seem too needy and desperate.
