Has anyone mastered the wheelie on a dahon??

I've an MU SL and was wondering whether it's worth investing any time in this or is it just going to end in total embarrassment and some broken bike bits

I think that would be hard on the folding mechanism.

When I test-rode one last weekend, I was afraid to even try hopping a curb.

you really shouldnt ...... and you really SHOULDNT say it in a public forum.... as that would be considered stunt riding from any manufacturer and you warranty is going to be gone for sure.....

Dahon != BMX

Geometry is wrong, and in particular the handlepost is too weak. I doubt you'd break the bike, more likely is that you'll break your twees. :P

I can wheelie my Downtube. I wouldnt do it regularly but it can be done
without any difficulty.
Just use a lower gear than you might normally use so you dont put undo strain
on the handlebar mechanism and if you need to abort, jump off the back rather
than let it slam down in the front :)

should be easy to wheely such bikes

small wheels mean rapid accereation.
low gears too.

big cranks and low centre of gravity

ok so the frame may fa tae bits...
but thats the joys of it

With the right gearing and torque popping a wheelie should be simple although I would have reservations about bringing the front wheel back down too hard... after all... it's not an R20.
