Nice! I lived in Boulder for a while, and visited some of those areas... Very beautiful. Just wished I was into road riding back then. I think those areas could rival the Tour. Maybe we need to have our own Tour de Colorado!

I remember Loveland Pass from a ride I did earlier this year, Pedal the Peaks. Next year I'll be riding in the Canadian Rockies.

Very cool! I've been to most of these places too. It's been a few years....need to go back. :) Not sure I could ride most of the high passes. :(

Generally most of those tours (BTofCO, Ride the Rickies, Pedal the Peaks, etc.) average about 75-90 miles per day, with pretty wide variance from day-to-day.

I rode the tour this year and it was awesome. I am looking forward to next years ride already. It will be starting in Ft Collins and weaving through Estes Park, Steamboat Springs, Walden and best of all Poudre Canyon. This should be an outstanding ride! I can't remember what the elevation gain will be for next year but looking at the 2004 route that they showed during this years ride I know it will be more then the 29,000 elevation gain we rode in 2003.

If you have never rode a week long tour, 400 + mountian miles, I can only say try it. It will push you to your limits but the sense of accomplishment can't be explained.

wyobiker, I have to agree, it was a spiritual thing. To push yourself to your limits and to come up fighting. One of my cycling friends wants to put in for the lottery for RTR, but the ride is so similar to last year's Pedal the Peaks.
