After considerable research I decided that the Break it, Fix it, Ride it CD-R was probably the best mountain bike maintenance and repair reference product available. So I ordered it. The following is a copy of an email I sent the company today:

------------------------------------------------------
Are you guys even still in business?

Two weeks ago I ordered the CD on your web site. I never got a confirmation email. So I emailed you asking for one. I never got a response. So I tried again. Still no response. So I tried calling the number on the order page of your site. A recording said it has been changed. So I tried calling the number the recording said was the new one. No answer. So I tried calling it again, and again, and again...at least a dozen times now. Never an answer.

I am starting to think that your company has gone belly up and your ISP just has not pulled the plug on your site yet.

Is there anybody out there?

Does anyone here have any experience with this company and or product?

BTW, their site is located at:

Best bet would be to get Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maitenance.

Sorry this is not about whether or not you can find the CD, but I just wanted to offer my opinion about spending money on reference items.

IMHO, books are still the best way to do go since you can have them out while you are doing the work. Also, you won't mind grabbing it when your fingers are covered with grease. I tried the "data" route a while back and found myself running back and forth from the screen to my bike and covering my mouse with a paper towel to keep it clean.

The black fingerprints on my copy of Zinn's have become a source of personal pride since it reminds me how much I have learned by doing. :)

After over a month since placing my order, I just received a confirmation email that the CD is finally shipping. Still no personal reply to any of my inquiries though. I’ll post my opinion of the product after I have gotten some tools and have tried some tasks.

I'm glad to see you've gotten your CD shipped. I had no idea about what the company was about, but if it doesn't ship, if you ordered by credit card, I'd try to cancel the payment.

I guess it's safe to say you won't be ordering from them again? Hopefully not.

Let us know when you get the cd and if it works for you.
