Gah, I woke up at 3am with a major toothache / headache. I haven't had any dental issues for a few years, this just came out of the blue. I hope I can find a dentist that is open on Saturday.

I am kinda bummed, we have had snow and bad weather for the last two weeks. Today temps will hit mid 50's, I was looking forward to one of my last long rides of the year, but will have to put that off for a later date. :(

Joe, look on the bright side. At least down here in Florida its sunny and 75 degrees. You can live vicariously through me. :D
Hope you find a Dentist. Feel better.

Anbesol will get you through a ride/weekend until the dentist is open. Tooth pain is the worst pain imaginable when it really kicks in.

Child beirth and Kidney stones probably beat it out for continuous pain but the momentary surges of pain I experienced from tooth problems when hit with cold drinks or hot stuff makes me fear the though of eating or drinking anything. If that pain lasted longer than A moment it would bring me to my knees instantly.

Two years ago I woke up to a kidney stone; I must have puked a dozen times due to the pain... not fun. I'll take a toothache any day. I just hope I dont have to have a root canal. The tooth that is bugging me has had problems in the past. :(

Take at least 600 mg of ibuprofen 4 times a day during this episode! Good luck!

Joe, my condolences. Hope you get it fixed fast. I know how much it huirts.

Trigeminal Neuralgia makes pikers of tooth aches and kidney stones. They are like a itch on your skin in comparison. Believe me, I have had them all.

Never done child birth, though :D .

Trigeminal neuralgia (TN -- tic douloureux) is a disorder of the fifth cranial (trigeminal) nerve that causes episodes of intense, stabbing, electric shock-like pain in the areas of the face where the branches of the nerve are distributed - lips, eyes, nose, scalp, forehead, upper jaw, and lower jaw.*

Definately don't put it off, worst case make a appointment on monday even if the pain goes away. Take it from someone who had 16 teeth pulled 9 months ago, last thing you want to do is put it off :)

I'm not a medical expert but I can say what fights tooth pain, try the ibuprofen if that does not work switch to Tylenol I found that at different times one worked better then another. If neither of those work try some excederin.. I normaly took 3-4 of each every time but that is not medicaly recomended :)
