"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - A trashing - a real nasty thrashing!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our team was sent an email about not stepping up in the master's races this year. There a 2 guys in our area that have won practically all of the races (They only lost the races they didn't enter). They're on the same team. Plus three others that know how to lay a hurting on the field. Our team hasn't done too well - to say the least. We were asked to work together, to organize and make a showing.
The race is 90 miles long this weekend. I've raced no more than 60. And the intensity, my God the intensity of these races because these two guys annihilate everyone from the get go. But, I emailed my manager and told him that if he needed me, I would do my absolute best.
I kinda hope he doesn't get the email. But I kinda do. I can't even imagine the pain that my body will undergo. But it would be a good pain - if you're into that sort of thing. And I am.

Stop whining :D
I'm not sure that I'm going to get any support for the feed in the RR. I'm going to rock: Five water bottles (2 in the cages, 3 in the jersey), about six gels in my short legs, and a ziploc with some electrolyte pills under one of the bottles in the jersey.

90 miles.
I drink a lot, and we deal with something you may be unfamiliar with in Nevada...humidity.
Sub: I'm doing the 3s.

:o I don't understand.
I was prepared to do the cat4 45 mile race. The master's is a 90 mile race. I don't really know if I'm prepared for it. But I'm willing to give it a go.
edit: never mind.

Good luck, man.
You know, like I told my wife, I'm up for it. I don't mind being pushed beyond my limits physically. If my manager says it's a go, then I'll be there 100%. I'll be bringing tons of fluids, gels, and tabs as well. Please let us know how you did.

You have a very great advantage. You know who they are. WHEELSUCK. You and your teammates take turns covering their attacks.
I won because I knew who was supposed to win if I didn't show up. I covered his attacks, worked with him, attacked him, and finally outsprinted him. Knowing who he was made all the difference.

Yeah Ryan Jenkins and Charlie Brown are funny. I saw Ryan in a break with two other guys at the Donaldson center and someone yelled something like 'go Ryan' or something like that, he gave a little smile and a wave while riding on the front and the two guys on his wheel were just suffering.
I thought you had to be a 3 to race Masters.
Good luck out there. Here's hoping it's not another rain out.

I don't know. I'm always asked if I want to do masters or cat 4 when registering.

Mr. Rockets. Or can I call you Water? There are two things different from me and you. One, you've got more wattage in your DeFeet socks than I have in my whole body. You train proper. And let's just say that I'm getting there. My training is really coming around. Operative word, "coming." Two, repeat number one.
But, I think if I'm called up for Sunday. I'm all over it.

This is an opportunity to take a non-incremental step in your racing. Good luck!

No email. No call. No nothing. I'm going prepared tomorrow to do the master's if he calls me up; extra fluid, extra gels, extra food, extra legs, extra lungs, extra blood. Mentally, I'm ready for the challenge. So, if I'm not called up I better dang sure do well in the Cat 4 race.

Yes.

Sounds like a hard core team if the manager is calling you out for Masters results.
Get out there and enjoy the hurt.

I'm awake and ready to take whatever I need to do for the team.
I hope to have a good report this afternoon. I race either at 8 or 8:45.
