I am going to look at a 2000 Schwinn Peloton Road Bike from this guy selling it for $300. I am new to the sport so I don't know much about bikes. He has a computer on it that records time and distance. Anyone know any history on this frame? He said he has all shimano parts that have been upgraded. That is all the info I have. Anything would help. thanks!

Dude, the $ is OK if it is in good shape. It was a nice bike in it's day. Make sure it shifts properly and look for frame abuse..
Here is a link onthe bike.

I sold a perfect Peloton FRAME & FORK for $400 back in '01. Looked exactly like the one in hammerdog's link.
If it has the little "853" sticker, and is in good shape, I would be all over it.
I still have a Peleton Pro - 2001 vintage I believe. It does have the really nice ride that steel is famous for. Mine has - just guessing - about 7-8 thousand miles on it. I put on five of them, and the guy I bought it from had ridden it across the country.
If it's in good shape, it's well worth the money if you're looking to get a decent bike on the cheap.
