Last weekend I managed to pull my achilles tendon. If you've never done that one, yeah it hurts like a muhfuggah. I give it a rest, so that I can stop limping and hopefully be better enough to cruise this weekend. It still is friggin bothering me, and I can't do anything with it still hurt, because I'll just make it worse. I'm icing it right now. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

ish. hate that. Good aspirin and icing is good. And in the future you need to stretch those ankles out and circle them around to limber them up.

My left one let's me know it's unhappy once in a while when I have not done a lot of stretching, etc.

<edit> Oh and how could I forget.

Beer. ;)

OK, time lapse shows that 12 should have been downed.

Now how do ya feel? :)

You wanna be real careful w/ injuries there. You don't want it to rip or tear, otherwise, you're in for a long recovery. At least that's what my barber said when he couldn't run for more than a year after surgery.

That sucks a bunch. I'm sorry. Try not to be impatient and do too much before you're completely healed! :)

Since I iced it tonight, it feels infinitely better. I'm about to go soak in epsom salt then rub it with tea tree oil. Then, I'm going to sleep. I'll drink moosehead tomorrow. I'm wanting to do serious garden work, so I need it not to be painful.

Damn my human legs

I'm thinking of getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

Well, you'll avoid pulling your damn achilles tendon, which is right now letting me know that it still hurts.

Stretching, stretching, and more stretching---stretch at least five times a day---when you get out of bed (gently), when you go to work, at lunch, in the afternoon, before you excercise, after you excercise, and before you go to bed. ( ICE IT LIKE CRAZY AFTER YOU EXCERCISE!) For walking around, you might consider in investing in a pair of heal cups/lifts that will take the pressure off of the achilles.

You might consider in investing in one of these---a Pro Stretch:http://usera.imagecave.com/referee54/prostretchmain.jpg
I used one everytime I reffed a football game, college basketball game, or baseball game. They realy do work.

correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think you can pull your achilles tendon

make sure it's not tendonitis because that is serious business

I have a doc's appointment on Thursday. If it's killing me too bad I'll use the V word.

beg, borrow, steal some powercranks - I've never had ligament problems (damn, now I've jinxed myself) but there are good reports from people with achilles, ITB, hamstring, hip, imbalance and ACL problems who've successfully rehab'ed on PCs.
