Just curious if anybody raced this weekend (8,9 Nov). If so, where did you go and how did you do? http://www.thebicyclestore.com/cyclocross.html (http://) <<This is our series here in OKC.

OKC_cross,
I am near you, I am in Springfield, MO. Do you ever do any riding with a guy named Mat Ankney in Tulsa? I will probably hit some of your cross races later in the season as your schedule goes farther than any other series I have found. Our local races start tomorrow and last for 3 weeks. Best of luck this weekend in any racing you do.

Raced against Mat a couple of weeks ago up in Tulsa. He won the A race by about a half a lap on me. The course rocked, it was long, rough, and had a killer run-up. Mat was too fast for me that day, but I will have another go at him next weekend up in Tulsa with the race at Chandler Park. I hear his fellow cat 1 riding parter may show up down here in OKC today. I hope so, it will make for an interesting race. It's 40deg outside right now and it rained all yesterday; excellent cross weather I would say. Some pics for the last race in Tulsa can be found at: http://home.solarc.com/jwhite/kors/sscyclocross1.htm
Good luck in your races in Springfield. I'll be back up that neck of woods on the 6th of Dec for the KS state finals in Kansas city. When and where is the MO state finals?

Geesh, I guess it's all relative... If it hits 40 degrees here, the roadies even come out! :)

Good luck with your upcoming races!

OKC_Cross,
The missouri state finals are in Columbia on December 7th. More info can be had at www.stlbiking.com or by calling Mike Weiss at Big Shark Bicycle Company 314-862-1188. It was about 40 degrees here today as well. I ended up winning the B class and was too spent to go for the A's. We will give them a shot next week. I do not think that you will have to worry about Mat anymore this season. I talked to him earlier this week and he sounded like he was done racing for this year. Hope you raced well today.

I did my first 'cross race this past Sunday (Nov 9) and it was a so fun. I read through past posts and pulled out as many pointers as I could. I was kinda worried about dismounts and mounts but it wasn't too bad for me. What I didn't expect was how hard it was endurance and strength-wise since all I did was road riding all summer. (Plus the fact I did a resistance band workout that kick my butt on Saturday.) At least I finished without the leader lapping me :)

I would KILL to race at this point. My whole season (built around cross) has been shot to hell, courtesy of the ******* who rear-ended us coming home from the airport. Now I'm facing PT and chiro visits to get my back in working order, which means no riding, let alone racing cross till our season here is over. :(
