Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

See the attached picture for more information. But basically I'm shopping for a cheap BB tool that would allow me to undo my bottom bracket. It seems there are two options, one is a wrench type tool and another would be a socket type; there are many different standards for bottom brackets, so I have no idea which route to go. I also have no idea what model my bb is; all I know it's from a K2 2006 Zed 3.0. Ideally I would like to get a tool compatible with many bottom brackets.
Thank you,
V

Count the number of notches. Should be 20. BBT-22 (http://parktool.com/products/detail.asp?cat=25&item=BBT%2D22)
Here's a lower cost alternative to Park, which visually appears to be compatible with your bottom bracket. As far as compatibility, there are probably two fairly common bottom bracket interfaces, this being one of them.

The good thing about the part one is that you can put a regular bike skewer through the middle to hold it all together and then torque away.
