View Full Version : 3rensho made Specialized Allez track frame?
Does anyone know for sure about the truth in this? I just bought a frame on ebay that claims it was a 3rensho made specialized and was wondering if there was any definitive way to confirm this. Here is a link to the auction:

If anyone knows how to identify the year of the frame I would be interested in that as well.
Thanks!

Post in vintage bike section, they'll probably know.
For the record, 3Rensho DID make some very early Specialized Allez models, so the guy isn't pulling this info out of thin air. Judging by the lugs I'd make a guess that it's a 3Rensho but my opinion is moot as I am no vintage expert...

Ask Andy Muzi at yellowjersey.org. He was the importer of San Renshos and is otherwise the guru of all things San Rensho.

That frame went for surprisingly little.

Specialized aint hip for the street.
It is true. I have two 3Rensho's, and an Allez Specialized Track bike. I can not speak for the road bike, but the lug's& dropouts for the Allez, and the my older 3Rensho are identical. Yoshi Kono was hired to build the Allez in the early 80's because Specialized was in Japan at that time.
