I just bought a '03 Giant TCR 1 from a local racer who was getting a new team bike. It's in great shape, not ridden much, never dropped and in the Blue, White and Silver color combination. I love this bike. It's approximately 17lbs and boy can I feel it. After riding an old 50cm Cannondale I swore I'd never ride aluminum again....but it appears aluminum has come a loooong way. Of course the carbon fork and Alien carbon seatpost help. It's not as smooth as my Ritchey but quick, responsive and smooth enough. Best of all...no toe overlap.
I ride a 48-49cm frame and the Giant small frame size gives me plenty of stand over, top tube not too long and overlap is practically non-existant. I'm Very Happy. :D

I have a giant ocr and love it... but what do you mean by overlap? I'm still new to the sport any help would be appreciated.

Toe ovefrlap or toeclip overlap is when your toes overlap and touch the front wheel during a very tight turn. Generally it's only a problem in small bikes or with a very short wheelbase and only they when your cranks are in the horizontal position. It's never a problem when riding normally only when doing tight in a parking lot, U turn in the road, etc.

I've had my TCR-1 for a couple of weeks now. What a sweet ride!

XL size weighs 19lbs. Fast and very comfortable...you're right about current
aluminum bikes!

Glad to hear ya like it. I have an 03 Composite TCR1 and I love it too. I've never been on a bike as quick or that handled as well. Not to mention that I can't feel hardly any of the road imperfections.

Mine is a medium and is currently at 17.5 pounds. However all I have done to it so far is add the Kestrel Pro EMS carbon handlebar. The Look pedals are kind of heavy as well. I'm hoping to help it lose about 1.5 pounds in the next couple of weeks though.

Mine is the small frame.

I have changed the saddle to Selle Italia SLR, the handle bar to the easton ea90, and the wheels to Mavic Cosmic Carbone SSC. Came close to going to Dura-ace, but decided not to.

Oh yeah, forgot I changed my saddle to a Specialized Body Geometry pro. My wheels will be in tomorrow. Hugi 240's laced to Sun ME14A rims with revolution spokes. I am also putting FSA Carbon Pro cranks on it and speedplay pedals.

That should knock the weight down quite a bit.

I'm test riding a TCR 1 Carbon Fiber Composite. It is a sweet ride! LBS getting rid of 2003 inventory. The price they're quoting makes it a steel. Too good to be true! I like the compact frame and as many have said, this bike flys!!!!

Condor, you can confirm your sti model # by rolling the rubber on the hood away from the bar toward the lever, it is formed in the plastic of the base.
Don't forget to buy tape as you will need to remove the bar tape to run the wires.
