Here is a collection of solar electric hybrid bikes that I've put together. Occasionally people ask about them, and to be truthful I think it takes a solar panel longer to charge a bike than an electrical outlet, or you need a large solar panel to charge efficiently. (Its hard to bike with a large solar panel hanging off of your bike rack. Hopefully with the new "thin" solar technology that is almost like wrappable tape, this idea will take off and become more efficient.
