Lost a friend to cancer early this morning, he went in his sleep, so it was peaceful, way too young, but oh well, have to take what the cards give you I guess.
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It puts a tint on the world doesn't it? I hope your friend enjoyed the time that he was given and realized what he meant to you.
Words are difficult. Hang in there.

The words of losing someone to cancer bring tears to my eyes, for I have lost good friends and family members through cancer. It is not easy, especially if they are young (lost a 19y/o friend). Kia Kaha Be Strong, find strength in family and friends.
My thoughts are with you and your friends family.

What a terrible thing to have to see a friend or loved one endure. A couple of my relatives died of Cancer and it was bad.
Do what you can for your pals. You never know when they will be taken away. I had the pleasyre of taking an old friend rock climbing several times the summer before he died. All he could talk about was how exciting and fun our climbing trips were when we spoke. Then he failed to show for work one day. He had been killed. I still become sad when I am around some of the old climbing crags we went to. Sometimes I like to just sit quitely and remember our time togather.

So sorry about your friend. My sister is fighting extremely serious cancer right now. We don't know from day to day when or if it will flare up again, as she finished a round of chemo about 1 year ago. But it is guaranteed to come back.
Just a reminder that all of our time here on mother earth is limited, and we can not predict when that will happen. W have had soo many teenagers killed lately in car crashes, and bicyclists, etc.
So, make each day worth while, treat others kindly, make a contribtuion to this world while you are here so that when your time comes you can look back proudly on your life and others remember you positively.

Well said.

I don't know have words to adequately express my sympathy and sorrow.
Danka,
I lost my best friend to Cancer in March so I know
something of how you feel.
My deepest condolences to you and your friends family.
Marty
Danka, so sorry to hear that. I just received an e-mail from a friend with updates on his situation. He was diagnosed with cancer in June, he has now gone through 2 different treatment periods with little or no results. It is not an aggressive type of cancer, but it seems very resistant to treatment. I struggled for a couple of hours to compose a remotely coherent reply to him. I just e-mailed it, and then decided I need to have a quick look at the Forums...
I cannot say I know how you feel, but you have my best wishes.

This topic just hit home to me. I just learnt that another friend of mine has passed away due to cancer. This has been a hard year for me, and it just got harder. Together we are strong, Danka
