My ride down Commonwealth Ave, through Kenmore Square, and onto Mass Ave. seemed to be full of police. And they weren't just the detail cops stationed at construction projects, either. One was waving cars through Kenmore, reprimanding would-be double-parkers. Another few stood by the BU bridge, directing traffic heading toward Cambridge across commonwealth in an orderly fashion (the overpass between BU central and east is a notoriously hairy part of my commute, but it was fiine today).

Anyone else notice this uptick in our boys (and girls) in blue (or high-viz yellow, as it were)?

Think it's just coincidence, or could there be a renewed focus on keeping things moving, now that it's spring and there are more of us on the roads?

(That last part is wishful thinking, to be sure) :o

I nearly got killed by 2 staties on motorcycles leaving Northeastern today. Were riding on the sidewalks and nearly took me out. They then had the audacity of yelling at me for not getting out of there way as they strolled on their Harley's.

There was, like, a queue of six riders climbing up the Longfellow when I got there and I'm usually lucky to just see one other rider.

I ride down beacon through Kenmore to Mass Ave, and I didn't notice any cops at all. What time did you ride?

I would've passed through Kenmore at around 8:46...
