Picked up my Trek 4300 today and planned on putting my rack on w/my Trek Interchange bag w/panniers.

Well, I need screws w/nuts/washers because the holes in the lower frame of the 4300 isn't threaded although the front ones are. Nonetheless, I ziptied the damn thing on and went to the bakery before it closed and got a loaf of bread.

A small accomplishment but my heart was in the right place. I felt damn good about it too!

Once I get that rig outfitted to get groceries I will be one happy camper :) At least the weather's cooperating for a change :)

I recomend picking up some lock nuts with nylon inserts because rear racks rattle around a lot and the screws fall out at the least convenient times.

+1

I've bought some cheap racks and had to replace the mounting hardware straight away since there's no way it would actually stay on a moving bicycle more than 20 minutes under any load.
