I picked up my Trek 4300 today and since it was such a nice day decided to take it for a quick ride around the neighborhood. After a small bump the front fender exploded into quite a few pieces :) So I picked them (all ?) up and emailed the lbs. I'll deal with it Monday.

Not to be discouraged, I got home and took the 7.5 FX off of the trainer and took her for a virgin spin.

After a comfort bike you can imagine the thrill I got! The damn thing is fast! And light! And nimble!

I like the FX a lot! I was talking to Bob at the lbs and he said he sold 13 bikes this last Saturday. He had previously told me he had loaded up on the Trek FX's. Good Gawd! That's gotta be about 10 grand in bikes and we all know how much the accs. cost.

I hope more folks choose to ride their bikes to their friends houses and do local stuff.

Too bad the price of gas has so much to do with it instead of just personal health.

Yes, it is fast. Roark and I highly approve of your purchase. Set that 7.5 free!

I would certainly hope that once the people who bought up these bikes start riding to save on fuel they will be bit by the cycling bug. Maybe they will decide that they like bicycles and will use them to achieve fitness goals. Then again you might be seeing a lot of like new low mileage FX's on craigslist next summer.
