I have a Weinmann wheelset on my Schwinn that have been rolling for 22 years, on Maillard Hubs.
40 spoke rear and 36 front. ;)

My Raleigh Detour came with Weinmann CN520 wheels and they are ok, a little out of true but they survive some abuse: rough patches of road where potholes used to be, climbing and dropping curbs, full speed into a sidewalk slab hard enough to knock my EL530 from its mount. front suspension probably helped with that last one.

The Weinmann name is now owned by a Taiwanese or Chinese company and has nothing to do with the former brake and rim manufacturer.
I have a "new" Weinmann rim for two years ( I guess the model is "DPX" ; I would have to look up to verify) which was very affordable and is rock-solid; it is also used on some tandems.

I just purchased a pair of Weinmann rims to replace a set on a old Schwinn. So far I like them and have not had any problems.

This set certainly looks clyde-proof . Double-butted spokes would be better than straight spokes; but for this price you cannot expect them.
