the frame is the same i *think* in terms of geometry but the higher end lts 1 used lighter tubing, and came with a better rear shock.

from what I've heard:
LTS-1 Carbon frame
LTS-2 Alloy frame
LTS-4000 Chromoly frame (a mate had one)

When they first came out there were 4 versions. The LTS 3 used 7005 Al and had low end shimaNO with a RS Indy fork and a RST rear shock. The LTS 2 also used 7005 Al with a entry level shimaNO group and I believe a Judy TT fork with a Noleen shock . The LTS 1 used a LX XT mix with a Judy XC and a RS rear shock, and the LTS Team had a 6000 series Al frame with XTR and a RS rear Coupe Deluxe rear shock.
Later on the LTS series was thermoplastic.
