A couple thoughts from high up here on my soapbox....
An awful lot of us are posting in this forum trying to raise funds for various causes. I have been involved with the Pan Massachusetts Challenge since 2006, first as a volunteer, then last year as a rider, and I will be riding again this year. The fundraising is challenging, to say the least. Some of these rides have very high fundraising minimums.
One thing I have learned since getting involved with the PMC is the importance of getting involved. With something. Anything. Don't stay on the sidelines.
Whether it's a donation to my PMC account, or Tom Stormcrowe's Tour de Cure, or any of the other fine events that are listed here, you'll get a feeling of satisfaction in getting involved.
Or, even better...all these events need volunteers to help staff water stops, serve as route guides, and countless other duties. And all it costs is a bit of time. Consider it.
