Hi just stumbled across this site and thought that as I spend so much time on a bike I may as well join. I live and work in London, cycling 10 miles-ish each way in. I've got 3 bikes: a Giant ATX850 mountain bike; a Bianchi GoldRace 600 racing bike (forks bent by stoopid man in car cutting across me) and my main bike which is a Giant SCR1. Funny thing that Giant seemed to be the only people still making bikes that fit me comfortably, ie 6'6" but so far the SCR1 has been great. Handles the pot holes well and can still get past the traffic at speed.

Welcome to the forums Martin. Have only ridden the subway, buses and cabs in London, never got to ride there. Must be great place to ride surrounded by all sites of your beautiful city.

Hello Martin, what part of London are you in? Are you car free as well?

Welcome to BF!

I'm in Welling in South East London. Strangely enough I'm originally from Nelson in Lancashire, which bit are you in?

I am car free as I never really saw the point of having a car sat on my drive for most of the week as it's pointless driving in London.

Are you a rellie  ?

I no longer live in Lancashire (I'm in the United States now, in the city of Kent, in Washington state), but I was born in Swinton. The earliest I can trace back places the ancestors in Lancashire from at least 1818, so I can safely say that I really am a Lanky Lass!
