In anticipation of the arrival of our new Co-Motion Speedster Co-Pilot (shipped today!), we are getting ready to sell our old Burley Duet. I've gathered many of its specs by reading the numbers off the bike, but there are some things I just don't know. The following are the specs I'd like some help sleuthing:

1) Serial Number--I've searched high and low and can't find it anywhere.
2) Model Year--I believe it to be pre-1998 because it has a quill stem (Tanger Avenger, I think), and Suntour XC brakes. I may be completely wrong, but I believe these components suggest something around 1996.

Here are the specs I know in case they are useful:

1) Shimano Deore LX derailleurs (front and rear)
2) Sugino crankset (front and rear) with 54/43/28 chainrings
3) 7 sp 28-9 cassette
4) 145mm rear spacing
5) Sansin hubs w/48 spokes

...and in case you haven't already noticed, this is all just nervous anticipation behavior. Have to do something to burn off the adrenalin caused by the excited anticipation of the new ride!

The serial number should be on the right side of the right rear drop-out... next to or partially hidden by the axle nut.

Very close to a '94/'95 based on specs:

Yup, serial # should be on right rear dropout and it sounds like mid-90s vintage.
Enjoy the new S-p-e-e-d-s-t-e-r TWOgether!
