This is probably an insane question, but. If I buy tires online, am I going to get 2, or 1? All the sites advertise "tire" not "tireS". Am I going to have to pay about 20-40 bucks for 1 tire?

More then likely they sell one tire at a time. Plan on spending $12 - $18 for a steel beed tire, and $20 - $40 for a Kevlar tire. What tires are you looking to purchase?

Price Point was selling a Bontrager Revolt tire set (2 tires) for $20 last month, nice semi-slick kevlar based tires... great deal, item #6401, you may want to check there site to see if the offer is still good.

Joe's right Fubar. All the tires I've seen are priced as a single unless they specify that it's a deal on a pair. I'm looking to buy two Kenda Kharisma UST Tubeless tires. Cheapest I've found them is at Pricepoint too. They were almost 40 bucks a tire. Man you could put tires on your car for that! (I'll probably get flamed for that last comment) ;)

Two for your bike and one for your unicycle or three for a tricycle :D

I need some new tire's too. I am using Specialized Team control pro's. But I have worn two rear tires in the last 4 months. That was 5 races and 1 24 hour race. Is this normal or are the wearing out to quickly:confused:

I have some Team Control's, and they worked ok for a few weeks, and then they started to loose traction all the time. I want to get some WTB motoraptors, but they are EXPENSIVE!! They put people like me in the poor house.

Expensive!? I just checked Pricepoint on those Fubar and they are only 16.98 each or 29.98 a set. Wish the ones I need were that cheap! :(

WTB makes quality tires for an amazing price. I put on well over 2000 miles on my old Velociraptors (sp?),,, I would have no problems going back to WTB tires once i get back on the dirt.

I've also used the Velociraptors and got a good long life out of them but they are way too heavy for me for racing.

You guys have about got me talked into getting those WTB Motoraptors now. 29.95 isn't bad for two tires. Has anyone tried them yet?

I have used the Motoraptor 2.4's and loved them. They hook up good on the trail and last forever, even on concrete.
I cant speak for the 2.1's tho they are a little different and I have never used them.
$40.00 dollars a tire is not that bad. The tires I run now retail for $60.00 apiece.

They were about $55 to start with but like everything they have come down some. I'll probably go ahead and go with the Kenda's. Have you ever tried Kenda Kharisma's? They make a non-UST version too that have been around for a while. What tires are you using that cost $60?

Nokian Gazzalodi's 2.6 on the front and 2.3 in rear.

Ha ha. So how much were your tires wholesale? I bet the answer to this question will make us full price paying people weak in the knees.

I am not sure if I should divulge that sort of info. Bike shops, on parts and accessories use the standard "keystone" mark up that most all retail stores use. On complete bikes it is a far far less of a markup than you would think. That is why you can bargin with shop owners on that crankset or that camelbak but most shops wont budge on bike prices.

Well I wussed out and bought the Motoraptors. $30 bucks for two great tires is hard to pass up. The Kenda Kharisma UST's have come down from $55 to $39 already so I expect they'll come down some more. I had some problems with the Hutchinson Python UST's cutting, (as did a lot of other people from the reviews I've read), so I boxed them up and sent them to Hutchinson to see what they'll do about it. Probably nothing but nothing ventured nothing gained.

I have a set of Moto-raptors (2.1) in like new condition I'll sell for $20 plus shipping. I got them with a wheelset I bought used and I don't need them. I don't see shipping being anymore than 3-5 bucks. email me if interested.
