I live in a tiny town with no LBS and the closest one is 60 miles away, so the only way I can get parts is to order them. Cambriabike had some good prices, so I ordered around $200 worth of parts. I'm building a wheel, so I ordered a new rim and spokes (being a dumbass, I forgot the nipples). The rim I wanted was on backorder which the website said might take 7 to 10 days to arrive. No big deal, I wasn't planning on doing any riding soon, so I went ahead and placed the order on Feb. 29. I finally recieved it on March 31. A lot longer than I thought it would take, but everything seemed great and I didn't have the nipples anyway, so no big deal. I ended up going out of town and bought some nipples. I started building the wheel and discovered 10 of the 36 spokes I ordered were 9mm to short. I called up Cambriabike and they sent out 10 of the correct size, no charge. I got the spokes yesterday, and discovered, they, too, are 9mm to short. I called up today and they're sending me the (hopefully) correct spokes, no charge. Hopefull, they will actually measure the spokes, instead of just grabbing the ones that are marked with the length I need. I guess we'll see.

So, to sum up, parts took longer than expected to arrive:mad:, some parts were wrong:mad:, replacement of parts for free:), wrong replacement parts:mad:, replacement of parts for free:). Kudos for quick work on fixing a screw-up, not so much kudos for making the same screw-up.

I've bought plenty from CBO, and never had any problems. Sorry to hear it wasn't as smooth for you.

I live within 15 minutes of Cambria Bike's San Luis Obispo CA store. I've purchased alot of things from them and have always had good service and prices. I buy in person.

The only minor problem was related to some Park tools I ordered that they don't ordinarily stock in the store. I experienced the same 7-10 day expectation that didn't materialize. The store said it was Park's problem [slow to ship], I tend to believe them. When the stuff finally arrived . . . they gave me an additional discount.

A weekend trip to their Cambria store is worthwhile. For lunch, try either Mustache Pete's, or that organic place down the street.

The drive is a little far for me. :p I really do appreciate their trying to resove this problem and I'll probably end up giving them another chance, but it sure is frustrating!

I just got the correct spokes last week. My guess is that they realized their entire bin of those length spokes were incorrect and had to reorder. I appreciate that they fixed their mistake, I just wish it was more timely.

Thanks for the follow-up post. It's always better to get the whole story.

Oddly, I've never been to that one. When I lived in Westlake Village, I passed the SLO store on the way to Cambria.
