View Full Version : Garmin 305 GPS
For turn-by-turn directions. Does the Garmin 305 provide this feature? If so, can I simply import a map from Mapmyride or bikely or other mappings websites?

Only if you create a route or course that has them and send them to the 305. It does not auto-route as it does not have the ability to load maps to the unit.

The Garmin 305 is designed to tell you where you've been, not where you're going. It's a training tool that allows you to analyze your ride afterwards. It is not designed for direction finding and does not have the capability to give you turn-by-turn directions.

Map your directions in a website like "Mapmyride.com"- download to the file to your Edge and that'll give you a turn by turn path. Except for the mapping software thats included, its worth having one. Especially since the costs are coming down since the newer models are coming out.

I downloaded the Seagull century last October, just for fun....
It shows the whole course and a little triangle wherever you are on the course...pretty cool.
