I have a cyclocross bike built up with all DA components. The gearing on the XTR chainrings are a little easier on my legs and I was wondering if I could use a XTR crankset with everything. Will the front and rear shifting be ok?

I have an XT/Ultegra mix on my old race bike that worked great (the cranks were XT). If you can live with the smaller chainrings, you'll be golden.

sweet! thanks alot. glad to hear that it worked for you, so I'm going to go for it. And actually, I've decided to keep my Dura-Ace stuff together and sell the XTR to a friend. I do have some old XT cranks and an old Ultegra front derailler lying around that I'm going to use. So, my setup should be identical to yours (XT crank + Ultegra front der). thanks again.
