I have just found out that my home contents insurance won't cover my bike trailer for theft although they would be happy to charge me £11/year for some kind of cover, of what I didn't even bother to ask. They cover my bike, so I don't see what the problem is.
Could someone advise me on a good insurance company that would insure trailers or have been good when it came to claims for bikes? I looked at cycleguard-but they don't seem very good if you read the small print.
Very grateful for any advise in this matter!

Nothing useful to add, sorry - CTC/butterworths specifically exclude "attachments" including things like pumps, lights, water bottle cages, etc., so I'd hazard a guess they won't be any better. Have you tried cycle insurance from Endsleigh Ins. ?

edit: endsleigh ins.

Have you tried cycle insurance from Enfield Ins. ?

Thanks for the suggestion but I do not seem able to find this insurer searching on the net. Can you give me some further details, please?

This was several years ago now, but I got my bike trailer covered by my car insurance company for peanuts. Can't remember who it was now, but if you have a car as well as the bike it might be worth a quick call.

Our car insurance is with Direct Line - will check with them. Still waiting for Endsleigh Ins. to get back to me to let me know if they could offer an insurance or not.

Anyone got any suggestions on who is a good Bike insurer? I now have probably the most expensive bike i've ever owned and seeing as there are always idiots on the road(other than me) trying to cause an accident I think I should get myself some sort of insurance for accidents, bike damage, being off work etc.Oh I live in London. High risk I would think.

The most common providers - check the T&Cs as they may not work for you.

Neither Endsleigh Ins. nor my car insurer will cover the trailer. Does Butterworth cover trailers too?
